Aluminium Venetian blinds are available in different sizes

Aluminium blinds have been fashionable for many years and like anything that works well it stays around. They are small enough to exist on their own or in conjunction with curtains or other products

Choice of many colour blinds

The range of colours has lessened considerably due to the lack of interest in aluminium venetians in favour of timber or fauxwood. This has led to many of the colours being discontinued. Venetian blinds allow for light filtering

They are a practical solution as they are versatile enough to filter light unlike some blinds but also close quite well to darken a room. They also sit with a few millimetres of the side walls or window reveals cutting out light and ensuring privacy. 

Blinds are small enough that they take up very little space

Although I am repeating myself to some degree these blinds will stack up to within less than 100mm depending on the drop and because they are lightweight there is little effort in pulling them up and down (depending on the width). This type of blind could suit a sliding door as they would be lighter than a timber venetian and not hang down as far when in the raised position.

Wand operation for tilting

In most cases these blinds have a wand for tilt and cords for raise and lower, although there are versions around that allow for options to that. In all cases where cords are used they must in accordance with law be tied up out of the way when not in use. Please be aware that all new blinds must comply with child safety regulations and have either a tear away acorn or a cleat hook at the correct height.
